Taking Fashion Outdoors...

Kozi Kidz

I remember my very first cagoule. It was a moss green number with Velcro cuffs, a detachable hood and a drop waist. It was seriously ugly.

But it didn’t matter because waterproofs were designed to keep you dry. As long as they did their job, who cared about the colour, style and fit? Well, thankfully for kids around the world, it turns out most of today’s major outdoor brands care.

Names like The North Face, Didriksons, O’Neill, Icebreaker, Smartwool and Kozi Kidz have put the fun back into kids’ outdoor clothing. Their colourful, stylish and high-performing designs means we no longer have to choose function over fashion.

Yes, quality outdoor clothing will always be measured by technical ability before trend, but the range of colours and styles now available show that what we choose to wear for our dog walks isn’t too far away from the catwalk.
I have picked three high-performing pieces from our own spring collection to demonstrate how some of fashion’s key trends have found their way outdoors.
